Corn and Soybean Starting to Emerge

Some of the very first planted corn and soybeans have started to emerge early this week. Monday morning we had a temperature of 28 degrees and a few hours of frost. We are monitoring the emerged crop to see how much damage was done. We have been continuing to plant soybeans and will be nearly completed planting them by the weekend. We have only planted a few fields of corn to make sure the corn planters are ready but are now holding till we see a warmer forecast to hold the soil temperatures above 50 degrees.
