We were able to plant some more acres this last week before the rain. Currently we are 68% completed with soybean planting and 37% completed with corn planting.
The first planting is emerged and growing fast.
The heavy rain this past weekend has caused some flooding that will take some time to get dry. The flooding may cause some replant but currently it is too early to see what crops will survive or have been drowned out. There was some damage from the storm to a building on our north Piatt county farm.
The crew is getting machinery ready to finish planting, mowing the yards, hauling some tile for fall projects, and starting to haul grain again as time allows.
We are very thankful for the rain and now are off the drought monitor maps for central IL!
