We are currently dry and hot in central IL. The yard mowing has stopped and the corn is showing some heat stress during the day. Overall the crop is still growing and progressing in growth stages. We did harvest wheat last week and have planted the double crop beans....

May 24, 2024: Farm Update
This week we finished planting here at Gingerich Farms. The crew is now transitioning to post emergence spraying for the first planted crops and side dressing nitrogen on the corn. Currently it is raining and more is expected on Sunday.
May 8, 2024: Farm Update
We have been able to plant a few fields of corn between the rain storms last week. The strip till corn fields currently are drying out better then the soybean fields where we need to cultivate so soybean planting has been at a stand still.

February has been another mild month this winter in Central IL. The trucks are hauling grain to the market and the shop is busy working on equipment and preparing for the planting season!

We were able to plant some more acres this last week before the rain. Currently we are 68% completed with soybean planting and 37% completed with corn planting
